🤔 We often think that healing begins with adding something new:
… a better habit,
… a positive affirmation, or
… a fresh Bible study.
👉🏾 But what if the true beginning of healing isn’t adding—but subtracting? 👈🏾
Before transformation can happen, unlearning must begin.
Many of us carry beliefs we never consciously chose.
We absorbed them from our families, culture, trauma, and even unhealthy church environments.
Beliefs like:
- “I have to earn love.”
- “It’s selfish to have boundaries.”
- “God only loves me when I’m good.”
- “My worth is in what I do, not who I am.”
***Healing can’t happen until we identify and release these faulty foundations***
Unlearning is not forgetting—
… it’s replacing.
… it’s looking at the lies you’ve believed, naming them, and surrendering them to God.
… it’s allowing the Holy Spirit to rewrite your inner dialogue with Scripture and grace.
👉🏾👉🏾This is where your healing begins—with the courage to say, “This isn’t true anymore.”
🙏🏾 Prayer:
Lord, I want to heal—but first, help me unlearn. Show me what I’ve believed that doesn’t line up with Your truth. Gently pull out the lies I’ve lived by and replace them with the power of Your Word. I want to live healed, whole, and free—in You. Amen 🙏🏾
